Thank You for Making Our 4th Annual General Meeting a Success
Education Global Senate is deeply grateful to everyone who joined our 4th Annual General Meeting, held virtually on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Participants connected from across the United States, the Middle East, and Nepal for an evening that was, by every account, warm, engaging, and deeply inspiring.
We extend our sincere thanks to our Chief Guest, Attorney and Senator Khagendra GC, for presiding over the ceremonial opening, and to our beloved Patron, legendary artist Madan Krishna Shrestha, whose presence and words of encouragement for our newest senators meant so much to everyone in attendance. The meeting was ably emceed by Dr. Bishnu Joshi.
The evening was marked by a beautiful note, courtesy of a musical performance by Prof. Dr. Keith Wright, whose flute rendition of “Resham Firiri” captivated the audience.
Rabin Sharma, Senior Vice President, welcomed guests with an overview of EGS’s mission.
Keynote Speaker, Sarana Shrestha Parajuli, Vice President of Education, shared the fulfillment she has found in advancing mental health initiatives through EGS. “There is no health without mental health, no education without mental health, and no wisdom without education. Let us invest in education, mental health, hope, resilience, and humanity,” her words reverberated through the global audience.
Mr. Surgeon BC, another Vice President, outlined upcoming STEM workshop plans. He is organizing a youth conference later this year.
Younger senators’ presentations captivated the audience when they cited their reasons for joining the team. Senator Shanta Nagarkoti emphasized that education is not a privilege, but every child’s right. Senator Keny Shah shared her passion for making a difference in children’s lives. Senator Saru Bishwakarma outlined the senator visibility project, which she is leading. Ashuna Chhantyal delivered a passionate speech on the importance of youth taking leadership roles.
We were proud to welcome two new senators during the program: literary figure Prakash Nepal of Baltimore, and community leader Milan Gurung of Boston, both moved to join after hearing about EGS’s ongoing work.
The evening also included a full slate of institutional reports, all of which were passed unanimously: the Grants Committee Report from Dr. Gopi Upreti, highlighting local project updates shared by Mr. Purna Bahadur Malla and Chandani Air; the Secretary’s Report from Kailash Jang Dangi; and the Treasurer’s Annual Financial Report from Kumar Singh Dangi. Several guests took a moment to commend EGS’s leadership — President Prof. Dr. Uttam Gaulee, Vice President Rabin Sharma, Treasurer Kumar Singh Dangi, and the wider team — for building a transparent, endowment-based model that channels senator contributions into lasting, accountable community impact. Chief Advisor Er. Gopendra Bhattarai reflected on transparency as the foundation of the organization’s long-term credibility.
We were also honored by well wishes and remarks from representatives of NRNA ICC, the Baltimore Association of Nepalese in America, the Nepalese Society of Texas, the Association of Nepalese in the Americas, the International Nepali Literary Society, PABFONE Boston, the Greater Boston Nepali Association, the Nepalese Association of Northern California, and many other diaspora and community organizations, along with senators and guests joining from across the country and abroad.
In his closing remarks, President Dr. Uttam Gaulee thanked all senators and guests for their continued trust, and shared his hope of one day passing leadership to a new generation ready to carry the organization’s mission forward.
