Global Senator

Public Servant | Restaurateur | Philanthropist

Ammar Chhantyal is a dynamic public servant and acclaimed food entrepreneur known for his visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to the global Nepali community. As the founder of the Mt. Everest Restaurant chain, he has successfully branded and popularized Nepali cuisine across multiple locations, turning dining into a platform for cultural diplomacy and community connection.

A lifelong advocate for diaspora engagement, Mr. Chhantyal has served in several prominent leadership roles within the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA). He was a Board Member of the National Coordination Council (NCC) America (2019–2021) and chaired the Membership Policy-Making Committee, helping to shape inclusive and forward-thinking frameworks for global Nepali participation. A Life Member of NRNA, he was recognized in November 2020 for his heroic service to communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Chhantyal also held the position of International Executive Committee President of the Myagdi Overseas Nepalese Association (MONA) from 2021–2023 and now serves as its Chief Advisor from the United States. Under his leadership, MONA strengthened its mission to unify the global Myagdi diaspora and expand transnational networks through global conferences and grassroots solidarity. Mr. Chhantyal served as the president of Myagdi Samaj USA (2017 to 2019) before going to serve on the global committee. 

In recognition of his outstanding civic contributions, Mr. Chhantyal has received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award from President Joe Biden and the INAS National Honor 2025 from the International Nepalese Artists Society for his exemplary service to society.

Balancing business success with social impact, Ammar Chhantyal continues to champion causes that uplift underrepresented communities, support emerging leaders, and build lasting bridges across borders.

Opening Session

The 3rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Samata Global Senate opened with a warm welcome to dignitaries, senators, and special guests. Chief Guest Mr. Khagendra GC, a distinguished lawyer from New York, and special guests His Excellency Prof. Dr. Purna Nepali (Ambassador of Nepal to Sri Lanka), Mr. Ram C. Shrestha (RTM District 4, Branford, Connecticut). Other Nepali diaspora leaders participating as special guests included Mr. Ammar Chhantyal, Past President of MONA; Mr. Khagendra Adhikari, President of ANA; Ms. Yasmin Begam Sayed, an economist and former Vice President at NRNA ICC (21-23), and Mr. Sushil Sharma, President, Jeevan Vigyan USA.

The assembly also welcomed Fulbright specialist Professor Dr. Keith Wright, who offered a cultural flute performance, and celebrated artists including singer Laxman Paudel and the Madhavi Bhandari Dance Team. A moment of silence was observed in memory of Senator Praveen Bhandari’s father Mr. Ammar Bahadur Bhandari.

Organizational Highlights

President Dr. Uttam Gaulee, joined by Vice President Sarana Shrestha Parajuli, emphasized the Senate’s mission to empower schools globally through endowments and initiatives. Key milestones since inception in 2022 were noted:

  • Growth to 135 individual and 9 institutional senators.

     

  • $300,000 raised and $144,000 disbursed in microgrants.

     

  • Support extended to several schools in Nepal.

     

Keynote and Community Remarks

Mr. Preetesh Karki, President of the Nepalese Association of Northern California, delivered the keynote, reflecting on the role of diaspora leadership in advancing education and global engagement. Several diaspora leaders, including Ammar Chhantyal, Khagendra Adhikari, Yasmin Begam Sayed, and Sushil Sharma provided remarks highlighting collective responsibilities toward Nepal’s educational future.

Treasurer’s and Secretary’s Reports

Treasurer Mr. Kumar Singh Dangi presented the financial report, which confirmed strong endowment management under 3EDGE Asset Management.

    • Financial Portfolio: Stable with buffered equity strategies to mitigate risks.
    • Financial Transparency: Transparency as one of the core values, reflected on the achievement of Gold Seal of Transparency from Candid. 

       

    • Grant Process: Dr. Gopi Upreti, with the Grants Committee, explained the transparent selection process, supported by videos from beneficiary schools such as Laxmi Pratistan. The Senate was commended for expanding access to education for underprivileged children.

       

Strategic Discussions and Bylaws Review

The assembly approved:

    • Renaming of the organization to Education Global Senate.

       

    • Establishment of an Advisory Board with proposed advisors: Er. Gopendra Bhattarai, Dr. Bishnu Joshi, Mr. Ammar Chhantyal, Dr. Shiva Gautam, and Mr. Thakur Gyawali, and Ms. Pooja R. Lama.

       

  • Strengthening bylaws regarding partnerships, committee formation, and organizational objectives.

     

Program and Initiatives

    1. STEM Education (led by Surgeon BC): Development of teacher training, global school partnerships, and international competitions in biology, chemistry, robotics, and mathematics.

       

    2. Mental Health Awareness (led by Mrs. Sarana Shrestha Parajuli and supported by health professionals including Dr. Ram Yadav, Dr. Anmol Shrestha): Multi-year initiative for student and community well-being.

       

    3. Birthright Nepal (presented by Dr. Anmol Shrestha): Fellowship reconnecting diaspora youth with Nepal through internships, cultural immersion, and language learning.

       

  • Youth Ambassadors: Three new youth leaders, including Ms. Ashuna Chhantyal, were appointed to promote youth engagement and leadership.

     

Next Steps and Priorities (2025–2026)

    • Expand senator membership to 300 to grow the endowment.

       

    • Advance STEM and mental health education programs in Nepal.

       

    • Strengthen global outreach and partnerships.

       

    • Complete grant disbursement and prepare the December 2025 call for proposals.

       

    • Continue diaspora engagement through Birthright Nepal and youth fellowships.

       

  • Ensure organizational transparency and visibility, including the recognition of the Gold Seal of Transparency.

     

Closing

The meeting concluded with gratitude to members, partners, and guests. Special gratitude was expressed to Legendary Madan Krishna Shrestha for his patronage of the Senate. The event reaffirmed the Senate’s role as a global community committed to educational equity, innovation, and sustainable development.

(१) सचिवको प्रतिवेदन सर्वसम्मतिले पारित

समता ग्लोबल सिनेटको स्थापना कालदेखि संस्थागत रुपमा भए गरेका प्रसासनिक गतिबिधिहरु को संक्षिप्त बिवरण साधारण सभाबाट पारीत भएको छ। यस अधि सोही कार्यक्रमको बिस्तृत बिवरण सचीब श कैलास जंग डांगीले जुन १८ शिकागोमा मा प्रस्तुत गर्नुभएको थियो। प्रत्यक्ष प्रासारण गरिएको सोही बिवरण पारित गर्नको लागी सचीबले प्रस्ताब गर्नुभएको थियो।

(२) कोषाध्यक्षको प्रतिवेदन सर्वसम्मतिले पारित भयो।

समता ग्लोबल सिनेटको स्थापना कालदेखि संस्थागत रुपमा भए गरेका आर्थिक गतिबिधिहरु को संक्षिप्त बिवरण साधारण सभाबाट पारीत भएको छ। यस अधि सोही कार्यक्रमको बिस्तृत बिवरण कोषाध्यक्षले जुन १८ शिकागोमा मा प्रस्तुत गर्नुभएको थियो। प्रत्यक्ष प्रासारण गरिएको सोही बिवरण पारित गर्नको लागी कोषाध्यक्षले प्रस्ताब गर्नुभएको थियो।

समता ग्लोबल सिनेट र समता स्कूल बीचमा भ्रम उत्पन्न हुनसक्ने संभावनालाई न्यूनिकरण गर्न र सिनेटर ज्यूहरुलाई सुसूचित गर्नको लागी संरक्षक मदनकृष्न श्रेष्ठ ज्यूको प्रस्ताव बमोजिम सिनेटको २०२२/१२/२५ बसेको बैठकले पारीत गरीसकेको निर्णयलाई सर्वसम्मतिले पारीत गर्न बार्षिक साधारणसभामा प्रस्तुत गरिएको थियो। समता ग्लोबल सिनेटको नाम परिवर्तन गरी ग्लोबल एजुकेशन सिनेट भनी नाम परिवर्तन गर्ने निर्णय साधारण सभाबाट पारित हुन सकेन । संस्थाको नाम यथावतै रहनेछ। समता ग्लोबल सिनेट अमेरिकामा स्थापित नाफारहित संस्था हो, यसले नेपालमा रहेको स्वतन्त्र विद्यालयहरुको संचालन गर्दैन भनेर सर्वसाधारणलाई सुसूचित गर्नको लागी सबै सिनेटर ज्यूहरुले मदत गर्नुहुनेछ। 

(४) कोष बाँडफाँड प्रक्रियामा आजीवन सदस्यहरूको चिन्तालाई सम्बोधन गर्न विशेष ध्यान दिइयो। दाताहरुको नियत र पालनाको विषयलाई विशेष ध्यान दिनुपर्ने निर्णय गरियो । चर्को बहसपछि विशेष साधारणसभाका सदस्यहरूसमक्ष प्रस्ताव पेश गरी बहुमतले अनुमोदन गरियोः

(1) SGS ले सबै आजीवन सदस्यहरूलाई सम्पर्क गर्नेछ र उनीहरूको आजीवन सदस्यता शुल्क कसरी वितरण गर्ने भनेर अनुरोध गर्नेछ। सिनेटरहरूको मनसाय सङ्कलन गर्न भरपर्दो विधि प्रयोग गर्नुपर्छ।

(२) SGS ले आजीवन सदस्यता शुल्क आफूलाई फिर्ता गर्न व्यक्त गर्ने सदस्यहरूको आजीवन सदस्यता शुल्क फिर्ता गर्नेछ। शुल्क फिर्ता गर्दा सबै अनुपालन नियमहरू पालना गरिनेछ। अनुपालन मामिलाहरूमा सल्लाहको लागि आवश्यक भएमा स्वतन्त्र समीक्षा समितिलाई सम्पर्क गरिनेछ।

(३) SGS ले आजीवन सदस्यता शुल्क समता स्कूलमा पठाउन व्यक्त गर्ने सदस्यहरूको आजीवन सदस्यता शुल्क समता स्कूलमा पठाउनेछ। समता विद्यालयमा शुल्क पठाउँदा सबै नियम पालना गरिनेछ । अनुपालन मामिलाहरूमा सल्लाहको लागि आवश्यक भएमा स्वतन्त्र समीक्षा समितिलाई सम्पर्क गरिनेछ।

(४) SGS ले आजीवन सदस्यता शुल्क बन्दोबस्ती कोषमा राख्ने भनी व्यक्त गर्ने सदस्यहरूको SGS को आजीवन सदस्यता शुल्क राख्नुपर्नेछ।

(५) आजदेखि सुरु भएको ३५ दिनभित्र आजीवन सदस्यहरूको मनसायको अभिलेख सङ्कलन गरी टुङ्गो लगाइनेछ।

विवादास्पद विषयहरुलाई सम्बोधन गर्न पूजा चन्दको नेतृत्वमा एक स्वतंत्र छानबीन समिति गठन गरिएको छ। साधारणसभामा डोनर इन्टेन्सन, कम्युनिकेशन, र कम्प्लायन्स (Donor intention, communication, and compliance) तीनवटा विषयमा जोड दिएको छ। यी तीनैवटा विषयलाई दृष्टिगत गरी स्वतंत्र छानबीन समितिले उपयुक्त सुझाव दिनेछ। समाजका लब्धप्रतिष्ठित व्यक्तित्वहरु र विज्ञहरु रहेको उक्त छानबीन समितिले विवादास्पद विषयहरुलाई सम्बोधन गर्न सुझाव दिनेछ।

Sarana Shrestha Parajuli is a dedicated individual who believes wholeheartedly in the power of giving back. Professionally, Sarana serves as a Complaints Specialist, utilizing her scientific expertise to investigate customer complaints related to pharmaceutical products. With a deep understanding of the importance of manufacturing quality products for the safety of patients, she plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards in the pharmaceutical industry.

However, in her personal life, Sarana truly shines as an advocate for social work. Volunteering at the Nepali American Center in Chicago, she actively engages in community-driven initiatives to promote Nepalese culture and heritage among the second-generation Nepalese community. Sarana’s role as the editor of the Chicago Chautari Times (CCT) monthly newsletter allows her to encourage the younger generation to showcase their creativity and strengthen their emotional intelligence by submitting their work for publication. Through these efforts, Sarana strives to empower the community’s children, helping them find their voices and advocate for themselves.

Pooja Chand is a remarkable individual known for her exceptional talent, unparalleled glamor, and boundless creativity. Her kind and generous disposition serves as a testament to her helping spirit, earning her the well-deserved title of “lady with a heart of gold.”

With her mesmerizing acting performances, Pooja Chand has left an indelible mark in the film industry. She has graced the silver screen in notable movies such as “Chhori-Buhari,” “Bar-Pipal,” and “Santanko Maya.” Through her impeccable acting skills and captivating screen presence, Pooja has effortlessly brought characters to life, evoking a range of emotions and connecting deeply with audiences. Her dedication to her craft and the ability to immerse herself in diverse roles have made her a sought-after talent in the Nepali film industry. Pooja Chand’s contributions as an actress have enriched the cinematic landscape, leaving a lasting impact on the hearts of moviegoers.

With a profound scientific spirit fueling her intellectual pursuits, Pooja Chand pursued her studies in science up to the proficiency certificate level, showcasing her dedication to knowledge and learning.

Additionally, her captivating story “Afaile rojeko antya = [The end of my own choice]” was published by Ratna Shree Publications in 2050 (B.S.), captivating readers with her storytelling prowess.

Pooja Chand’s exceptional contributions to the Nepali entertainment industry have not gone unnoticed. She has received numerous awards and accolades, exemplifying her excellence and dedication. Most recently, she was recognized with President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for her volunteer services. In 2059 (B.S.), she was especially honored and facilitated by the Nepal Chalachitra Rashtriya Sangh, further cementing her position as a prominent figure in the industry. Additionally, in 2056 (B.S.), she received a Letter of Honor from the Sangh, underscoring her outstanding achievements.

Currently also known as Pooja R. Lama, after her marriage with Raju Lama, an artist, Pooja is actively involved in volunteering and community work. She has served as the Vice President of the International Nepali Literary Society from 2006 to 2023, playing a vital role in fostering literary and cultural exchange. Furthermore, she has actively participated in various community programs organized by BANA (Baltimore Association Of Nepalis in America), further demonstrating her commitment to supporting and uplifting the Nepali community.

Kiran Paudyal

Senator – Education Global Senate

Kiran Paudyal is a highly accomplished and versatile individual, widely recognized as an independent filmmaker, film producer, researcher, and documentary director. Currently based in Texas, he has garnered a remarkable reputation for his outstanding contributions to the film industry. With a passion for storytelling and a keen eye for detail, Kiran has established himself as a creative force to be reckoned with.

As the founding vice chairman of the esteemed Nepal America Film Society and co-founder of the prestigious Nepal America International Film Festival, Kiran has played a pivotal role in promoting Nepalese cinema on a global scale. His dedication to showcasing Nepal’s rich cultural heritage through film has earned him immense respect within the industry.

Kiran’s educational background further underscores his expertise and commitment to his craft. He holds a diploma in journalism, laying the foundation for his illustrious career as a senior reporter from 1997 to 1999. Additionally, he has successfully completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Screenwriting and Non-linear video editing from Avas Film Academy, an institution affiliated with the esteemed Tribhuwan University of Nepal. In 2010, he received the prestigious National Film Award for his outstanding movie “Dhasdhunga,” which captivated audiences and achieved recognition in five other distinct categories. Kiran’s talents have not been confined to his home country alone. He has showcased his films internationally, participating in renowned film festivals such as the Toronto International Film Festival and the Chicago International Film Festival in 2013. In addition to his contributions to the world of film, Kiran is also deeply involved in community service. He currently holds the position of Vice President at the Nepalese Society of Texas (NST), an umbrella organization representing over five dozen active Nepalese social organizations in Texas, USA. Through his involvement with NST, Kiran continues to foster unity and support the Nepalese diaspora in Texas, exemplifying his commitment to art and community.

आजीवन सदस्यहको शुल्क कति हो? रकम कसरी परिचालन कसरी गरिन्छ ?

सिनेटका आजीवन सदस्यलाई हामी सिनेटर भन्छौं। सिनेटरहरुलाई हामीले एक प्रतीज्ञा गरेका छौं कि उहॉंहरुको सदस्यता शुल्क (१००० डलर) को सॉंवा रकम कहिल्यै पनि खर्च हुँदैन। त्यो ग्लोबल च्यारिटि इन्डाउमेन्टमा जम्मा हुन्छ। यो इन्डाउमेन्टको सॉंवा चलाउन मिल्दैन। अन्य रकम चाहिं पार्टनर स्कूलहरुलाई ग्रान्टको रुपमा दिइन्छ। पार्टनर स्कूल मार्फ़त शैक्षिक कार्यक्रमहरुमा खर्च गरिन्छ। 

अमेरिकामा रहेको समता ग्लोबल सिनेट र नेपालमा सञ्चालित समता विद्यालय वीचको आधिकारिक सम्वन्ध के हो ?

समता ग्लोबल सिनेट संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिकामा दर्ता भएको गैर नाफामुखी संस्था हो। हाम्रो मिशन विद्यालय/शैक्षिक संस्थाहरूलाई सशक्त बनाउनु हो। हामीले बर्ष २०२२ मा हाम्रा वेबसाइटहरू, सामाजिक सञ्जालहरू र कार्यक्रमहरू मार्फत समता स्कूललाई ​​प्रवर्द्धन गरेका थियौं। हामीले समता स्कुलका संस्थापक श्री उत्तम सञ्जेलको अमेरिका भ्रमणलाई प्रायोजन गर्यौं र समता स्कुललाई अनुदान दियौं। समता ग्लोबल सिनेटलाई नेपालको  समता विद्यालयको बारेमा प्रश्न, गुनासो र जिज्ञासाहरु प्राप्त भएका छन। तर सिनेटले समता स्कुल संचालन गर्दैन। यसको जानकारी गराउन हामीले सिनेटको सोसल मिडीया पेजमा फेब्रुअरी २, २०२३ मा एक सूचना प्रकाशित गरेका थियौं।

समता ग्लोबल सिनेटले साझेदार विद्यालयहरूको सम्पत्ति, दायित्व र व्यवस्थापनलाई नियन्त्रण गर्दैन। समता ग्लोबल सिनेट एक स्वतन्त्र दातृसंस्था हो। साझेदार विद्यालयहरूसँगको हाम्रो सम्बन्ध दाता र अनुदानमा सीमित छ। 

समता विद्यालय नेपालमा दर्ता भएको स्वतन्त्र शैक्षिक संस्था हो भन्ने हाम्रो बुझाई रहेको छ। उक्त विद्यालयको स्वामित्व, संचालन, वा आधिकारिकताको सवालमा हामी अनभिज्ञ छौं।

समता ग्लोबल सिनेटका आजीवन सदस्यहरुवाट उठाइएको रकम के कस्तो अवस्थामा रहेको छ ? 

फिडेलिटी नामक वित्तीय संस्थामा 3EDGE Asset Management नामक कम्पनिले म्यानेज गर्नेगरी इन्डाउमेन्ट फन्डको सिर्जना भएको छ। 

समता ग्लोबल सिनेटका सिनेटरहरुले प्रदान गर्नु भएको दान कुन क्षेत्रमा खर्च गरिने छ ?

सिनेटर शुल्कको सॉंवा इन्डाउमेन्टमा जान्छ। अन्य रकमबाट पार्टनर स्कूललाई अनुदान दिइन्छ। 

समता ग्लोबल सिनेटका सिनेटरहरुले प्रदान गर्नु भएको दान परिचालनको लागि के कस्तो मापदण्ड या निर्देशिका तयार पारिएको छ ? 

सन २०२४ अगस्त ११ म बसेको साधारणसभाले एक स्वतन्त्र ग्रान्ट रिभ्यू कमिटि गठन गरेको छ। सो कमिटिले ग्रान्ट सम्बधी कार्यविधि तय गरेको छ। यस अघिसम्म सामान्य निवेदनकै आधारमा पार्टनर स्कूललाई उपलब्ध गराउँदै आइएको थियो। प्रयोजन खुलाएर रकम तोकेर माग गरेको आधारमा ग्रान्ट रकम उपलब्ध गराइएको थियो। सिनेटको इन्डिपेन्डेन्ट ग्रान्ट रिभ्यू कमिटिले आवश्यकता अनुसार मापदण्डहरु निर्धारण गर्छ र प्रस्तावहरुको मुल्याङ्कन गर्छ। एक पटक लिएको ग्रान्ट रकमको प्रभाव र परिणाम सहीतको प्रतिवेदन नबुझाउने संस्थालाई फेरी दोहोर~याएर रकम दिन मिल्दैन।

हालसम्म सिनेटले कस्ता संस्थाहरुलाई मदत गरेको छ?

सिनेटको उद्देश्य अनुरूप शैक्षिक संस्थाहरुलाई मदत गर्दै आएका छौं।

यो संस्थाको सम्पूर्ण रुपमा खर्च गर्ने अधिकार कसलाई हुन्छ ?

साधारणसभाले दिएको निर्देशनभित्र रही कार्यसमितिले खर्च गर्न सक्छ। तर सिनेटर शुल्क चाहिं इन्डाउमेन्ट फन्डमा कहिल्यै खर्च नहुने गरी राख्ने व्यवस्था छ। 

शुरुमा समता ग्लोबल सिनेट को वेबसाइटमा समता स्कूल का फोटोहरु राखिएको थियो। अहिले देखिंदैनन नि, किन हटाइएको हो?

समता स्कूल हाम्रो पहिलो पार्टनर स्कूल हो। त्यसकारण हामीले उहॉंहरुलाई मदत गर्दै आएका हौं। उहॉंहरुकै अनुरोधमा उहॉंहरुले पठाएका फोटोहरु हामीले राखेका थियौं। उहॉंहरुलाई समता स्कूलको प्रचार गर्ने इच्छा रहेको थियो। हामीले पनि मन खोलेरै प्रचार प्रसार गरेका हौं। पछिल्लो समय सकूलले नै ती फोटाहरु हटाउन अनुरोध गरेपछि हटाइएको हो। 

सिनेटले नेपालमा सञ्चालित समता स्कूललाई कसरी चिन्दछ?

सिनेटले समता स्कूललाई पहिलो पार्टनर स्कूलको रुपमा चिन्दछ। उहॉंहरुसंग दीर्घकालिक साझेदारी गर्ने हाम्रो शुरुवाति चाहना रहेको थियो। 

नेपालमा सञ्चालित समता स्कूलले सिनेटलाई कसरी चिन्दछ?

आधिकारिक रुपमा भन्नुपर्दा समता स्कूलले सिनेटलाई चिन्दैन।

सिनेटले सन २०२२ मा पठाएको ग्रान्टको रिपोर्ट समता स्कूलले सिनेटलाई बुझाएन।। सिनेटले स्कूललाई रिपोर्ट बुझाउन र थप रकमको आवश्यकता भए सो को प्रस्ताव पठाउन पनि आग्रह गरी पत्राचार मार्फत ताकेता गरीरह्यो तर विद्यालयका संस्थापकले चाहिं सिनेटका जिम्मेवार पदाधिकारीहरु संग सम्पर्क विच्छेद गर्नुभयो।।

सायद रिपोर्ट लेखन र प्रस्तावलेखनमा समस्या हुनसक्छ भन्ने अनुमानको आधारमा सिनेटले स्कूलका पदाधिकारी, प्रशासक, वा शिक्षकहरुलाई रिपोर्ट बनाउन सिकाउने अफर पनि गरेको हो। अन्य तालीम र लीडरसिप डेवेलपमेन्टका अवसरहरुको लागी मनोनयन पठाउन आग्रह सहित पत्राचार पनि गरिएको हो। तर स्कूलले रिपोर्ट पठाउन अस्विकार गर~यो , थप रकमको लागी कुनै प्रस्ताव पनि पठाएन, तालीम र लीडरसिप डेवेलपमेन्टका अवसरहरुको लागी कुनै कर्मचारी वा शिक्षकको मनोनयन पनि पठाएन। यसरी सिनेटसंग स्कूलले सम्पर्क बिच्छेद गरेको लामो समय भैसकेको छ।

समता ग्लोबल सिनेटमा उत्तम संजेलको भूमिका के हो? 

बर्ष २०२२ मा सिनेटको आयोजनामा आयोजित कार्यक्रममा संजेल एक अतिथिको रुपमा आमन्त्रित हुनुहुन्थ्यो। सिनेटका तर्फबाट उहाँलाई अधिकतम सात हज़ार डलर सहयोग गर्ने सहमति भएको थियो। सहमति भएको भन्दा धेरै गुणा भन्दा बढी सहयोग गरिसकेको छ।

समता ग्लोबल सिनेटको कार्यक्रममा उत्तम संजेललाई कुन शर्तमा अमेरिका ल्याइएको हो? 

उहॉंलाई अमेरिका निमन्त्रण गर्दा सिनेटको तर्फबाट पटक पटक उहॉंको के “एक्सपेक्टेशन” छ भनेर सोधिएको हो। उहॉंले एक हज़ार डलर पाए बिद्यालयको लागी ठुलो मदत हुनेथियो भन्नुभएको हो। सिनेटको तर्फबाट हामीले उहाँको म्यक्सिमम अपेक्षा कति हो भनेर पनि सोधेको हो। उहाँले सात हज़ार डलर सम्म पाए त भवन निर्माणमा समेत सहयोग हुनेथियो भन्ने आशा व्यक्त गर्नुभएको हो। सिनेटले सात हज़ार डलर नघटाईदिने बचन दिएर अतिथिको रुमपा बोलाइएको हो। पछि उहाँले थप रकम माग गर्नुभएपछि उहाँलाई जे जति रकम चाहिएको हो, निवेदन लेखेर माग गर्नुहोस र लैजानुहोस भनियो। त्यसपछि उहाँले थप १४,८४५ डलर थप लिन चाहेको भनेर निवेदन दिनुभयो र सोही बमोजिम रकम बुझेर लैजानुभयो। उहाँले पटक पटक सिनेटसंग माग गर्नुभएको छ। हालसम्म उहाँले रकम तोकेर मागेको जति सिनेटले दिइसकेको छ। पहिलो बर्ष (२०२२) मा २९,२४५ र दोश्रो बर्ष (२०२३) मा १९,२३० गरी उहॉंले सिनेटबाट लिएको आधिकारिक ग्रान्ट रकम जम्मा ४८,४७५ डलर हो। उहाँको रोजाईका अन्य विभिन्न माध्यमबाट पनि हामीले थप अलग्गै ८५ हजार डलर बढी सहयोग पठाएका छौं।

७ हजार दिने शर्तमा बोलाएको हो भने फेरी किन र कसरी बढी डलर दिइयो?

पहिलो पार्टनर स्कूलको रुपमा समता स्कूल प्रति हाम्रा पदाधिकारीहरुको विशेष अभिरूचि रहेको हो। हाल यसरी गरेको ठाडो मागको आधारमा मात्र रकम दिन नमिल्ने ठहर भएपछि मानक प्रकृयाको आधारमा मात्रै ग्रान्ट उपलब्ध गराउने निर्णय भएको छ।
